Vans Classic & Family Lookbook Spring 2014

2013 was probably the most scary and exciting year I've experienced so far. I made several life changing decisions and took huge risks. I feel like I failed and became successful all at once. I quit my full time job with the military as a logistical specialist to chase after my passion; it was the hardest decision I've made so far. I moved to a different city where I did not know anyone. All at the same time I was chasing my dream, traveling back and forth between Nashville and Atlanta on the weekends for photography jobs. I shot my first cover and spread this year. I was so proud of myself and shocked at the same time. I feel like it was just yesterday when I first picked up a camera and decided to start shooting as a hobby. I still wouldn't call myself a "professional" whether I'm getting paid or not. I don't see it as a job. Not yet anyway. I thought 2013 was already a huge success for me, until I landed a photo gig with Vans. I shot for the Vans Classic & Family lookbook for Spring 2014. This was my first big commercial job as a photographer. It's still hard for me to believe I had the opportunity to shoot for such a huge company. I still have a lot to learn in the industry and don't really want to count my chickens before they hatch. I'm hoping this is just the beginning. Click on the photo to view the lookbook. Enjoy />

Old gems

My procrastination and laziness seems rewarding at times. The hundreds of photos taken on nights like these get overlooked quite frequently. I'm either too hungover the next day to even bother with them or I forget I even I had the camera out that night. Either way, it's a great feeling to come back and find photos like these. It's like finding lost treasure.

Man like fire

I believe getting a fire started is one of man's greatest primitive achievements...and accidents in some cases. We all just sort of stare at it in amazement and silently commend ourselves for creating such an awesome masterpiece. Even if we just simply use a lighter and a ton of gasoline, it's still a great success. I decided to go camping with some friends this weekend...in a backyard. We drank beer, fished, and made this fire.

TESLA ROSSA debut VIDEO SHOOT

...which is exactly what went down last night for Tesla Rossa and everyone who pleasantly volunteered their time and effort to finally make this video shoot a success. Last night around 11:30 PM, director and videographer Jordan Noel called it a wrap for Tesla Rossa's debut video shoot for their new hot single "Kinetic".

While I was two-timin' as the photographer and an actor, I managed to get some shots, which I'm sure won't do the video any justice. But in the meantime, it will give you a sneak peak of the magic created.

Next Big Nashville

I was a photographer for the Next Big Nashville music conference. I got the opportunity to shoot a lot of great bands and musicians from all over the globe and meet with some talented folks in the music business.
